The Loud Silence

Lights, glitters, music and food,

Hopes, dreams and a will to live.

Searched for them in my neighborhood,

Only nihility of senses greeted me.

Then time passed in apathy

Outskirts imbued in desolation.

No happy voices or giggles.

Just occasional twitter of a mockingbird.

The silence was loud as ever

And the company of the screens became a burden.

A casual touch craved for,

Seemed like a distant memory.

Transitions, vicissitudes shot mind rumbling,

Unending nightmares followed behind.

Then a call from a friend brought about

Snow in the scorching desert.

Hold my hand, hug me

Said my mind, kindly let me feel alive.

Let go of the misery,

For the darkness won’t last forever.
